I have also read that NO testing was
ever done. This allows Nalco to say
they are unaware of any problems. It
is easy to see where ignorance could
possibly help with liability issues.
Also, again, the profit from using an
industry provider of dispersants and
the issues that litigating damages
makes it more appealing NOT to test.
Our government seems fine with allowing
the industry to self-regulate. Hopefully
things will change but with the amount
of money being used to hire lobbyists
and gagging scientists, my hopes are
not encouraged...
