Having taken LSD hundreds of times in my youth, some of my worse trips were actually with shrooms. Giving psychedelics to someone dying of terminal disease seems almost sadistic. HOWEVER, there are times when you're tripping that the fear of death DOES vanish - you feel one with the universe etc.

Unfortunately those are usually far and few between.
