Re: treatment for mild Pancreatitis

Hi April,

sorry for the long delay in replying.

What you've observed with your bloodwork is interesting.

Are the digestive enzymes available by doctors prescription?

How are you going with the diet?

My EUS didn't show anything out of the ordinary. I was told that I may have had acute pancreatidis. However, I still had persistant mild pain. My Gastroenterologist told me it was probably a strained abdominal muscle from throwing up.

I saw a second gastroenterologist who wanted me to get a CT given that I a had abdominal pain and had lost alot of weight. Like you I didn't want to get this because of radiation. However, I will reconsider it if I cannot gain weight over the next 3 - 6 months.

Until recently I had been eating alot and drinking sustagen shakes to try to get back to a healthier weight without much success. I had been eating alot of fat free yoghurt.I also take Spirulina, Bluegreen Algae and Chlorella. I know they're high in fat, but I'd also been eating handfulls of almonds.

The pain began to soften at times, and I was feeling it about 50% of the time. I had one flare up during this period but that passed and I began to feel it about 50% of the time.

For the last week and a half I've been dealing with a flare up thats as bad as it ever was. I am eating, but less. I think I'll take your advice about vegetable juices.

Thanks!

Your input is appreciated.

I will check the links you've posted.
