Thanks for the comments! I guess my reasoning behind taking the ground cloves for now from the spice rack is that I have been so amazed by watching the show "unwrapped" and seeing how things are made and packaged freshly, that I figured that when "McCormick" grinds their cloves for packaging, they do it quickly and move their production to the next spice to be mfg. the next day, much the same as a supplier of herbal suppliments? Also, I did buy ground cloves from Swanson Vitamins, but they are whitish in color, and the description says "clove flower". I have been taking one of those daily just for luck but I don't know if clove flower is the same as ground clove. Does anyone know the answer to that? I do plan on getting a grinder soon and buying whole cloves though. I'm sure just like with fresh garlic, when you break open a clove of garlic it releases a property that fights infection and parasites, that dried or packaged garlic is not the same.
