Epsom is not salt, it is magnesium sulfate. Some people are short on magnesium and then the body absorbs the ES. I don't have the knowledge to understand what happened to you. I know about the 2-3 BM's a day, but the average people I know are glad when they go once a day. For the last few weeks I have been using 2-3 capsules of Oxypowder a day. I also tried barefoot herbalist LBB, but I never really got going, I could not figure out how many capsules I needed with every meal. I kept upping it, but I figured I would be through the bottle in a week. Then the website went down and I went back to the Oxypowder .
