Re: which water distiller. glass or stainless steel?

hi brain,

heres some more info for your research.

i bought the 'pure magic' counter top water distiller about 8 years ago. it usually took about 3-4 hrs to fill its blue plastic bottle, using heaps of electricity. after about 3 years (when its warantee had run out) it started clicking off and on half way through the fill. eventually it conked out altogether and i packed it back in its box and its been in the cuppoard ever since.

now i use a double carbon filter (some have a copper filter too these days) on an all day s-l-o-w drip in the second bathroom and then i boil the water for drinking. compared to the distilled water it tastes just as clean (even tho i know less impurities have been removed) looks beautifully clear but has a smoother lighter feel than distilled which has a less aerated, dryer, grippy feel on the tongue if that makes any sense.

hope it helps
