Re: New to Oil Pulling and have questions
MrCuddly thanks for your response, it seems you are one of the 'gurus' around here.
I chose those things after reading all of the messages here and trying to filter out what seems to be the most "popular" or the "made sense and seemed harmless" and going from there.
I have not posted in two days but will put an update after I address your reply and others.
I have so far used, the EVCO and Flax Seed Oil to pull.
The grape seed oil (one or two drops)in the evco or flax seed.
The DrBonners for brushing.
I stopped the Tea Tree Oil Mouthwash after the 2nd day as my mouth was too astringent feeling.
The way I read your reply, you say the DrBronners is too strong for toothpaste, but this is where i found it. So I am assuming that as one of the 'gurus' you have a great deal more experience. I had never considered using "soap" of any sort as toothpaste.
I have to say that my initial results so far are encouraging, but certainly do not want to damage my teeth and gums any more than they already have been.
besides the fresher breath and some of the stains starting to "fade" the most surprising thing I have experienced is the calculus buildup that started 3 years ago at the base of my bottom 4 front teeth has actually come off!
When I first noticed it I had purchased a dental mirror and "shepherds crook" pick from Walgreen's and tried to "scale" it off without any success. The gum line of those four teeth had a sharp pebbly texture to the touch. Very much like taking the sharpened points of many pencils and lining them up along my gum line.
Since starting this I noticed a short that after the regime I was feeling small "chunks" along my gum line, just one or two at first.
I pulled out that old pic and after a tentative tug with the point a couple of big chunks came off but the rest were stubbornly attached.
Over the next 4 brushings with DrBronners and my SpinRight toothbrush the entire visible line of calculus is gone.
There is still some just below the gum line and I realize that sticking the pic down between the tooth and gum by myself is not the brightest move in the world I am going to hold off on that but I think I will continue the DrBronners for a few more days after each OP and hopefully the rest will fall away.
I do have to say that I really like the day long effect of the DrBronners and OP'ing in terms of breath, taste and texture of my mouth.
After a couple days I may change to baking soda (and from one post possibly peppermint oil) to see what that result is.
Thank you for your response and once I get a blog up on wordpress I will link to the set of daily pics I am taking to document my progress.
Cheers
Mike
