Depends on the diet you went on. The biggest problem with the original Pritikin diet was that he removed all sources of fat, even natural fat (like nuts), and basically everyone who went o n the Pritikin diet ended up with Gallstones and having to have surgery to have their gallbladders removed. With no fat in the diet, the bile and cholesterol just sat in the gallbladder for extended period of time and calcified.
