Re: day 39...feelin fine!!!

i am so happy, excited and thankful to God right now. :)!!!!!

Hey SoldierforChrist :),

That's exactly what i felt when i knew (or believed) i was very close. A big congratulations on 39 days and on being so close to your goal.

then day 36 i had the worst case of heartburn in my life... so i decided to get alot of rest until im done my fast and everything went back to normal within 24 hours.

Very happy to hear that you were able to pull through this.

but i dont think i could have done it with out Him and prayer at all.

A key point and i agree completely.

so how am i planning on breaking my fast you ask? well, one thing im NOT going to be breaking my fast with is (GASP) any juice at all!! lol. since i tend to try to drink mostly only water anyway, even when im not fasting, i will be breaking my fast with food!!! fruits and veggies mostly.
day one i plan on breaking my fast with a bite or two of just plain matzah bread. then ill wait see how i feel. then when i feel up to it,im not quite sure what fruit will be first to hit my palate but im thinkin its gonna be watermelon!!! so ill take a bite and see how i feel and go from there. im gonna have plenty of raw fruits and veggies to snack on. i dont plan on overdoing it/overstuffing myself. ill do my best to excercise self conrol and wait a few hours inbetween feedings. also i plan on snacking on popcorn(no butter or salt...yet) and mixed nuts all day!! not alot, just a almond here and a pistachio there... im also very much looking forward to eating black cherries and prunes and carrots and ect.,ect.,ect..lol. but i still tend to play things by ear. the first night i may attemt to make one of my "heaven wraps" which is hummus, avacodo, lettuce, tomato and onion drizzled with honey on a wheat wrap. ill eat what i can and put the rest in the fridge for later.
day two ill probably try alittle but of yogurt with my fruit and that with help reintoduce good bacterias into my stomach that help us digest.but other than that ill porbably repeat that for a day or two. making adjustments where i see fit. over the course of the week im going to slowley reintoduce things to my body. small glass of milk here,a bite of beef jerky there. and by next weekend i plan on making a delightful beefstew with a london broil and lots of veggies in my crockpot.from there anything goes!!! now i know many of you dont agree with my methods.

There is a lot of crazy sounding stuff here, but with the tiny quantities you are talking about i actually feel that you will likely be ok :). My appetite becomes ferocious for a few days so i personally am a lot safer restricted primarily to juices when this happens. If you can have one almond and not 30, there is a huge difference in the kind of trouble that can possibly arise. I could more easily lift a car over my head than stop at one almond so i dare not ignite my appetite for almonds until it is safe to have 30 of them.

the way i see it, juicing isnt so natural and is wasteful in many ways. if you were fasting AGIANST your will and someone handed you an apple...i believe you would eat the apple.

All true, but juice is the most digestively simple of all foods at a time when extreme digestive simplicity and caution are ideal. It is true that we can take a few careful bites of an apple, but we can drink quite a bit more apple juice and with no complications. I feel thus that we can actually get more satisfied at this delicate stage drinking larger amounts of juices than eating smaller amounts of whole fruits.

I am with you on the wastefulness of juice and as such i have actually been freezing all my pulp... to enjoy in fruit smoothies and vegetable soups in about a week. It would be a shame to let all that expensive organic produce go to waste and there's a lot of it :).

this one is a guy who did two fasts in 1970-71. he fasted 28 days evangelizing in LA and broke his fast with fried chicken. then he took a full size cross, carried his cross from LA to washington DC by foot and then fasted in front of the whitehouse evangelizing for 40 days. he broke his fast with a roast beef sandwhich. he says both times he felt great afterwards

Yes there are examples of people successfully breaking fasts like this and examples of people dying or almost dying doing the same thing. In my case, about 24 hours after breaking a 30 day fast (about 3 months ago) i believed i could handle a half handful of raisins and i was laid up very sick in bed for 24 hours after this. And that's just a half handful of raisins, not a roast beef sandwich. In Olivia's case, her stomach was daily digesting vitamins and minerals so her digestive system never went into slumber... I read about his fast, but i'm not sure if that was the case with Arthur Blessitt...

Amazing story his! I actually saw him in an interview and have been looking forward to seeing his movie... i believe called "the cross"... but have yet to have the pleasure. I read through some of his blog , clicking on some of the countries he walked through (he walked with the cross in every country in the world to those who don't know).
