Re: Questions about Metametrix Lab (GI Effects Stool Testing)
I originally had a candida issue and I spent 30 days with next to no carbs and a candida diet, then I did the McCombs plan for 16 weeks. Unfortunately after that I got my wisdom teeth removed and developed a jaw infection. I was on amoxicillin at the time so they prescribed me clindamycin which is known to be the harshest
Antibiotic on the GI tract and to cause C diff infections.
3 weeks after I finished using the clindamycin I started having continuous violent watery Diahrea. It subsided on its own but I still experienced severe bloating and indigestion. Plus there would be lots of undigested food in my stool even though I was chewing thoroughly and taking digestive enzymes. I could only eat simple white breads without getting severe stomach aches. Eventually I got my metametrix test done. (The full panel version, they charged me $390)
It indicated a systemic yeast/fungal infection but with "taxonomy unavailable". It also indicated a positive for
parasites but "taxonomy unavailable". Also it showed that all my predominant Bacteria were out of wack. Keep in mind the taxonomy unavailable finding indicates that it could just be a false positive due to ingested mold or parasite. However after seeing my fungi sensitivity test, I knew it was accurate because the Fungi was sensitive to all the substances I had been taking heavily in my life to keep fungus in check.
Anyway, I'm seeing a homeopathic doctor now who has yet to do anything for me. She had me get blood cultures with sensitivities and the genova labs parasitology test so we'll see what she recommends after the results are in.
As for myself, I started self treating and decided to attack the fungal infection first. McCombs claims that fungus cannot adapt to his candida force (10-undecanoic acid) and I think I believe him since I took 5 bottles worth and yet my fungi still came out sensitive to the substance on the metametrix test. I'm taking oregano oil and candida force and following the McCombs plan but have cut out fruit. My plan is when I'm finished with that to do McCombs'
parasite cleanse which is Agrisept-L and Morinda supreme. To be honest I've been feeling infinitely better having been on the anti-fungals for just 4 days. I'm more worried about the parsite cleanse since I don't have a sensitivity test for that, but I'm going to add
Clarkia in to cover my bases.
