Re: Please help. My son is only 12 and is very ill.
Well the first place to start is the identification of the parasites. This has to be primary. Too many people make assumptions that they know what they have, and when challenged, they cannot provide a solid answer. The reason for pushing this idea is to insure proper treatment protocols. In other words, every pathogen requires a specific protocol for eradication.
In the
parasite world, there are a multitude of possible infections. In general terms,
parasites are classified into three major categories and multiple taxonomy within each classification:
1) Nematodes/Cestodes - most common thought of parasite
2) Trematodes aka flukes
3) Protozoa which include giardia, cryptosporidium and the dreaded b. hominis and d. fragilis.
If the child is indeed infected with
parasites and let says he/she has b. hominis, then the protocol that the ND is prescribing would be worthless against these guys.
But
parasites are not the only pathogens that can find their way into the gut where majority of the immune system lies (Peyer's Patches etc).
Rogue bacteria can find their way there as well as yeast/fungal and viruses. Each of these requires a different strategy for elimination.
I continually push the Metametrix GI Effects Stool test. It is heads and shoulders above any other form of
parasite testing and will also look for bacteria and yeast/fungal situations as well as parasites. You do not need to do the full panel, the #2105 panel will suffice and save you some $. The reason for this is PCR testing which you should read about on the MM site.
