Re: Vitamin C
I am sure I will get pounded for this, but LARGE doses of Vitamin C are not for everyone, and must be initiated slowly. Vitamin C lowers blood pressure. If you are hypotensive, normotensive,or bradycardic and you take a large dose of C, your blood pressure will fall significantly. I have seen a blood pressure go from 130 /68 to 98/39 within 2 hours of ingesting a large dose of C. Monitor your blood pressure closely. In addition,
Iodine begins to restore the elasticity of the arterioles. Even a very small increase in diameter will significantly lower blood pressure. You add the two elements,C and iodine, and you can easily go hypotensive. That is why you got the lightheadness, jitters, etc. Like anything else, you take a substance in large doses, and it is a drug, in essence. Another thing,C is a natural diuretic. It is going to eliminate fluid from your body. So if you have any proteinuria before taking C, it will get worse via renal dehydration compensatory mechanisms. That will allow for less regulation ( ie it will be harder for your body to compensate for blood pressure fluxes since you are essentially dehydrated). C affects glucose levels. Diabetics and those with low blood
Sugar will initially show aberrations in glucose levels. While this may benefit hypoglycemics, diabetics can be harmed. You must start slowly. Finally ( and this is just my opinion) I believe it is prudent to take
Iodine by itself, not with companion supplements simultaneously. Give it a few hours, then hit the sodium selenite ( only form you should be taking), lysine, proline etc. Hope this helps. Lisa
