Re: Went to the infectious disease doctor today...
Hi Kakie,
Good luck with all the tests. I am not sure why he thinks that about the allergy tests. I had those tests done, and they did indeed show intolerances even tho I did not have systemic candida. That is a controversial area in and of intself, but I think he is right. We tend to call candida that gets into other organs besides the gut, "systemic", but apparently this is not true, systemic deadly candidiasis, which according to what I have read, is like your doc says. But many practitioners and sufferers refer to candida that has originated in the gut, but the tosins they give off have affected other organs, as "systemic", even tho that is not technically correct. So, it sounds like he knows what he is talking about.
I meant to mention to you before, there is a fab product out there called Alkalol. Best sinus cleanser I have ever come across. Very effective on mold and fungi. And it is inexpensive at about $4.00 a bottle. All natural. You can usually find it at a drug store Like Wlagreens or pharmacy. In some states, you have to ask for it at the pharm counter b/c it is kept behind the counter, but no prescrip is needed. You can also get it online at iherb.com. I had to ask a few different Walgreens in San Fran before I found one that had it - the others did not even know what it was. Anyway, I use it in a neti pot, diluted with 2-3 parts water. They say use 1 part water to one part Alkalol, but that was too strong. You need to add
Sea Salt as you would to any nasal rinse. I use 1/2 teaspoon or so in my solution of 1/4 cup Alkalol and 1/2 cup water. It is pretty intense from all the natural oil it contains. But, my sinuses feel great afterwards.
