Re: Tooth Truth by author Frank Jerome
You're welcome. I was glad to have the opportunity to share about Dr. Jerome!
I haven't had insurance for many years. I got to him just in the nick of time because my health was so trashed. I'd been treating chronic Lyme Disease, which took years to find out I even had. Plus I didn't find out I had Celiac til I was over 40, so I was trying to recover from a lot.
My immune system took such a big hit over the years that my teeth were just falling apart. Every tooth in my mouth has been worked on, some multiple times. And I had a metal crown, filling or bridge on every one except for the front tooth he polished. So my system was also being affected by so much metal.
I suspected that he finds cavitations with an x-ray even as I was writing that he didn't have a cavitat. You can tell that he sums things up quickly at a glance.
I've been nervous about calling Shankland because I've had so much dental work I practically have PTSD about it. My teeth were so sensitive they always had to be anesthetized more than once. I got where I had to be sedated (with nitrous oxide) before I could stand to be worked on.
Now that you've confirmed Dr. Jerome does cavitations, though, I'm tempted to go back to him! I'd much rather see someone I'm familiar with and trust than someone new, even if he's really good.
My jaw has been giving me so much trouble. My health actually plummeted not long after I had my wisdom teeth out as a teen, but I was never able to draw the connection until I got my
root canals out and was able to recover enough to see the bigger picture.
I also realize I may have many teeth that are dead by now, and I'm not interested in having a bunch of crowns replaced (and the
Amalgam under them removed) if they're already dead and should just be pulled. I know Jerome's not the type of guy who would replace your crowns just to make money. He'd do what needed to be done for your health.
