Wow, amazing stuff there! Kudos to you for being brave and determined enough to get those taken care of. I wish you complete and speedy healing. Can I ask, how much did Dr. S charge per cavitation site? Were there any other expenses included?
My husband and I finally had our cavitation surgeries done one week ago by Dr. Jerome. I have to say, the surgery went very quickly and smoothly though my husband did have the same problem as you in getting adequate numbing which is typical for him as well (5 shots instead of 4 for each side of the mouth).
Dr. J did both top and bottom on each side of our mouths in the morning and then we came back in the afternoon to have the other sides taken care of. His wife, Linda has an amazing bed-side manner, so sweet and kind. She held my hand during the incisions and drilling. I kept my eyes closed the entire time but my husband says he saw the gunk that was being sucked out of his sites and it was nasty! Dr. J described it as having the coloring of melted butter in each of our sites. I guess I should be glad it had not gotten so bad that it had turned to gangrene like some others.
After each surgery, he had us bite down on some gauze until a natural clot formed (about 1.5hrs later) and take some Arnica homeopathic crystals under the tongue every half hour until gone. That was to help the blood clot form and reduce swelling, bruising and pain.
We went back to our hotel room and rested until the epinephrine wore off and we were able to eat before the next surgery in the afternoon. I had brought some Miracle Mineral Supplement (MMS) with us and we swished gently with that once the clot formed. After doing that for a half hour, there was no more bleeding.
We both had slight swelling in our cheeks and the discomfort eventually required advil in the evening after working our jaws over a light dinner of soup and icecream ; )
We rinsed with the
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement the next morning before heading to the airport. So glad we had choose to stay over night as this is something that other cavitation dentists had recommended to allow the clot to have time to form properly since the vibrations of airplanes and automobiles can make clotting more difficult.
Haven't had any problems with my sites since the surgery except for the expected tenderness on contact with food. However, my husband cuts down trees for a living and does not know what "take it easy" means. He jumped right back into working when we got back. He has been experiencing headaches in his temple area since then. Just yesterday his top left site started bleeding a little (one of the largest infected sites he had) after hanging up side down while working on some equipment. He had also allowed himself to get dehydrated in the heat which could have contributed to the problem.
Last night his jaw and temples were pulsing so I had him take one drop of
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement for the first time internally and also swish with a solution of 3 drops
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement mixed with DMSO (for penetration). He said about 20 minutes later when he lay down to sleep, his jaw was opening and closing involuntarily and twitching but the pressure in his temples suddenly released and he could feel sensations moving from his jaw to his temples. He said it was a really weird feeling. When he woke up this AM, all the tension in his head and face were gone. He swished with the mix of MMS and DMSO again b/c he was so amazed by how well it had worked.
Long story short, I would highly recommend Dr. Jerome for
cavitation surgery . He seems to be genuinely interested in helping people and fixing the damage done by other dentists whether intentional or not. Though we did end up having to pay out-of-pocket since insurance does not cover it, we saved a ton of $$$$ by going to him ($300 per cav site vs. another cav dentist we saw who wanted $1,500 per site). And that was even with the cost of travel (airfare, hotel, rental car and meals).
If you are brave and healthy enough to be awake during the surgery and you don't have too extensive infection in your jawbone (lots of extractions sites or
root canals that have been in place for years), you may not need the conscious sedation ($500+) though it would be nice not to remember this procedure.
Dr. Jerome does not have a Cavitat machine. He uses only x-rays to determine whether or not cavitations have formed in your extraction sites. He found our Cavitat scans to be helpful and accurate in predicting the presense of oral pathology. I'm not sure how this works if you have had
root canals or crowns that have lead to jawbone infections though.
He was very interested in looking at our thermal imaging scans as well. I gave him a copy of Fred Hughes' book "Am I Dead or Do I Just Feel Like It" that Fred had sent me for him. He may be added to the list of dentists recommended by ProvenHealthManagement.com in the near future.
