Opposite sex friends - are they okay?

A man wants to be my friend, to see me sometime out of our normal venue. He knows I'm married, says he respects that and would not do anything to put me in a bad situation. He does admit he likes me. He wants to be friends to have a chance to talk to me. I would kind of like to, but I wonder if this is a bad situation. Should I feel guilty if I go have lunch (in a public place) with this guy as a friend?
