Oh honey - I SO feel you. The brain zaps are major sucky. They reminded me why I shouldn't be on meds in the first place though, ya know? Like, super not natural. These are my suggestions - you need to laugh. Put aside a funny cartoon or movie every night - it sounds like a lot of media but when I was detoxing meds - I felt like I needed that 'time away'. Could be a funny book if you like. Rent the movie, 'Eulogy' - it's one of my favorite dark comedies. I like dark comedies because when you have stuff to rightfully be sad about, watching dark comedies reminds us that there's humor in everything and other people are just as wack as we are. 'Undertaking Betty' (or as it's known here, I guess, 'Plots with a View') is also a scream. One of Christopher Walken's best comedies. 'Saving Grace' is another really good one. Craig Ferguson wrote it and stars in it as well. Good dark comedies. You need to laugh - every stinking day. Again, good comedic books are nice - but I dig curling up in my bed with my stuffed monkey (don't make fun) and giggling. Makes me feel safe when I need it.

The other thing is you must get as much B vitamin in food form as you can eat right now. Nutritional yeast will help. Make yeasty popcorn! It rocks! Popcorn with nutritional yeast and a *pinch* of cayenne is awesome!! Yes to cayenne of course - circulation to the brain. http://www.nutritiondata.com
for good sources of B vitamins. The more your body has B vitamins each day - the better you'll do detoxing the meds. If you find organic blueberries or other dark fruit on sale, freeze several of the little containers. Grab them outta the fridge, take a handful and that'll help stretch the dollar of them. More B's!!! I think Molasses is good for that, too.

My next suggestion is cranial sacral. You should think about going and getting a good cranial sacral session. Getting your cerebral spinal fluid moving will not only relax you a great deal but help your brain move nutrients and oxygen around. Yep, that'd be good. You could call Lawerstein-Conway (sp?) on Burnet - they might still be doing student massage and if they offer cranial-sacral their sessions for massage used to only be $30/each.

Do you have a stuffed animal? I'm tellin ya - my cute little stuffed monkey is awesome. I hadn't had a stuffed animal since I was a kid and I got one for detoxing meds/depression. A stuffed animal can be squeezed tighter and get way less oxygen to it than a puppy - so - I opted for the stuffed animal. They also have to poop way less often - so that's also a plus. :)

love you! I totally believe in you. Remember - as soon as you're falling - you need to reach for foods that are super mineral rich. Apple Cider Vinegar, Molasses, Nutritional Yeast - grab things that are dense - have a tbsp of each and then see how you feel. You must remember that your detox pathways need enough B vitamin and sulphur (among other things) to function. Create an experiment. When you get the brain zaps - reach for the nutrient dense tablespoons of yummies then see how you feel. And no amount of green chile sauce (no Sugar added, though), mole or any other superfood sauce is too much. If you crave any sort of Mexican or South American flare - get it. Go to Central Market (cleanest source for those things, I'm sure) and get a few types. Any serotonin and happy-educing tastes will help. El Rancho Grande was a huge help for me - their mole was to die for.

You're gonna rock this - you're meant to. Just look in your sweet parrots' eyes and see if they don't believe you can do this. ;)
