Re: Water Rentention/side effects after Mirena removal?

Hi there. I recommend to just be patient. You are recovering for sure, but it is slow for some it seems. I had mirena for 6 years and would guesstimate that I really started feeling pretty 'normal' at about 8-10 months. I have been through a very stressful year after removal and was put on anti anxiety meds. Helped at the time, but as my body seemed to be regulating, the meds seemed to keep me in an unfocused state, so went off of it about the 8 month mark. Since then I have felt more normal except during or just before my cycle. But, happy to say I do not have any more heart palps or anxiety. YAY!!! My periods are coming back at about 1x a month, but much lighter than before mirena. YAY!!! Keep digging here for info and I know you will find lots of support. We all have reacted so differently but yet so much alike. There is light at the end of the tunnell, don't put your chin down. It seems like it takes close to a year for most to feel back to normal. You are almost there. Best decision to have it removed. Good for you. Just try to focus on the good you feel and not the bad. Keep us posted. I think you are going to be surprised at how good you are getting ready to feel.Think Positive.
