Re: Tiananmen Square redux?
Saying that we are still the freest and most abundant country is akin to saying that we still have both arms and one leg compared to the four we used to have. It is also not quite accurate according to accepted measurements of abundance and freedom. In 2005 we ranked 15th in the world in standard of living and that standard has declined precipitously since the Bush and Obama bailouts for the international bankers. In 2009 we ranked 9th among the countries with the most freedoms.
Continuing to try to spend our way out of a problem caused by overspending in the first place is doomed to further erode our standard of living. Given the excesses of the Patriot Act and the continued centralization of power our freedom ranking is likely to decline even further as well.
We could debate the existence of the NWO ad infinitum, but it is really not my intent to argue with you. I am just saying that I admire what you are doing and cautioning you against being overly optimistic. And I really do hope you are right about the NWO not happening in my lifetime of that of several successive generations. I personally think that we the people will have to wake up and take action to keep that from happening. On the other hand, I am the eternal optimist who, despite what it may appear in some of my posts in the debate forums, nevertheless continues to find great joy and wonder in the world. I have a great love for my fellow man and am usually found with a smile on my face and a song of hope in my heart. Not to mention more than a little mischief in my eyes . . .
You have a good evening too!
