I feel if lips were given time to heal, rather than peeling off the skin over nad over again, the problem would go away.

Lips are hard to heal because they get wet alot from eating and drinking, saliva, etc and they keep moving all the time.

Also they are always touching each other, so they cause a contact irritant with each other, so you have to keep them apart also, and let a lot of air pass over them constantly to make them dry and heal faster.

If we could suffer thru the healing process by letting it crust over and heal properly by itself, I think thats the sure fire way to fix the problem.

But who is brave enough to go out in public in your daily life with thick crusted over multicolored nasty looking lips for everybody to see for weeks or months? My god that would be horrible.

If you could go away on vacation for several months by yourself, that would be the solution.
