Re: Paleo Diet and Genes

What a dilemna, if you ask me. We can't live as pure hunter-gatherers anymore because we have adopted to farming and pastoralism. I always figured the ideal lifestyle was a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. I suppose farming and pastoralism could be just as ideal and just as eco-friendly though. I wonder if the changes to our diet have caused our health to improve or devolve. Or, perhaps we are just different, like comparing apples and oranges. At any rate, if we have devolved, then maybe there could be something to be said for adopting a paleo diet and trying to push our genes back in the old direction, though this depends on how evolution works, and having read Weston Price' and Pottenger's studies, I am now thoroughly confused on that issue.
