Just kidding....;-)

1. You may have encountered some "button pushers".

Your "laboring" at communicating would be an enticement to these sort of people.

2. Alpha male who feels inadequate around you and therefore shows dominance by controlling the conversation. Very typical as they fear a non controlled environment.

3. You could ask, but the odds of the person actually knowing why they MUST control the conversation is low.

4. They may be from some "select" areas on the East coast. This is what they do. There is no real conversation.

Ever seen an interaction where the person who repeats and screams the loudest is the winner. Like on the Jerry Springer show.....;-)
