...I feel that people most always think of themselves, first, when a subject is raised.

But, we all hope we have grown up enough to consider others BEFORE we reply.

Sometimes people speak out of turn simply by habit, I'm sure. Perhaps a little more practice would help.

'Dear Abby' once commented to a young woman who had been held in conversation by an older man she didn't know, until she missed her elevator.
