You will probably get about as good of benefits that way as chewing it.  Raw garlic is most beneficial when it has been minced and allowed to sit for about 15 minutes.  A good way to take it would be to combine it with a bit of that tomato juice and add some cayenne pepper.  Yeah, that will burn a bit, but you get used to it and the combination is a very healthy one.

Maybe add in a teaspoon or two of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar for even more benefits.

I agree with the other poster that 10 cloves seems like an awful lot of garlic.
