Re: Iodine on skin versus orally?

Yes, absolutely detoxing bromide, fluoride, etc can bring on some emotional issues and if you feel as though you might not be able to handle that at this point then by all means wait. Iodine is definitely the "big guns" as far as detoxing this crap. In the meantime, though, you can get a jump-start on this in a kinder, gentler fashion. Do some salt-loading. Chloride alone will displace bromide. And here's an exhaustive post I wrote on detoxing fluoride:

As far as dosing goes, some start low and proceed slowly, some jump right in at 50 mg on up. There have been good results reported with both approaches. Detoxing of undesirable halogens elevates with dosage, although I do believe there is a point of diminishing returns on that. I recall that I started having sporadic visible signs of detox(brown pee- bromide) at 26 mg and that became more consistent the higher I went.

And don't worry about maintenance yet~! START first(when you are ready).

BTW, if you're going to do topical dosing don't go hog-wild, you WILL absorb through the skin, especially if you mix with oil. When I made my very first batch of salve, I put it everywhere and went skiing. Threw me into a detox, yes indeedy. Of course I was ingesting as well so I have no idea how much I "took" that day. Just sayin- don't underestimate the power of topical iodine. Whatever we put on our skin, we absorb.
