Re: Probiotics CAUSING constipation

I found out what it was. Wrong type/strain of probiotics (for me). Ive tried so many different ones out there but decided after mxied responsed or bad response, that i needed to isolate. i make an educated leap and decided i might do better on just bifidobacteria, no lacto. And sure enough, i was right. Starting with first day, lots of gas and bloating (which is normal regardless of any probiotic) but had a great bowel movement in the morning. And ever since. The way i know a probiotic is working and that the gas and bloating is just acclimating to the probiotic, is that GOOD probiotics don't constipate me. Only bad ones do. And by bad, I mean bad for me.. it doesn't work with my gut. Everyone is different. i do NOT do well on lactobacillus acidolphius. In fact, it causes gas, constipation pretty bad and also heart burn which i never have. Too much lactic acid and d-lactate.

Problem solved!
Now, time to add in a single strain that doesn't produce D-lactate of lacto species and see if i can get this acidolphilus overgrowth under control.
