Re: Vicious cycle...

Hi,

It sounds like there is a whole lot going on with you. I'm not an expert on any of this stuff, but your situation sounds complex. I've been working on my own eating issues which sometimes involve binging - if I eat enough of something with too much refined sugar, it actually induces a several day binge until I stop it with a fast. (I'm not promoting anorexia here - I will fast 1 day on water only or on OJ to break the binge cycle... it's one of the things I found works for me.) Bad, but this is how it is. That's b/c bad nutrient food sucks nutrients from your body, then you need more nutrients, making you want to eat. Plus it's addictive, literally.

You are going to need to take your health in your own hands. Docs are used to quick fixes, and there isn't a pill for complex eating/energy/nutrition/psychological issues.

The motivation is the hard part since it will take a lot of work to get from where you are to where you want to be. Perhaps starting the Iodine protocol to get more energy, and to work on eating lots of salads. Even if you're out of control but you binge on a ton of greens, at least that's a start. Work it from there. If extremes work for you, maybe go to an all liquid diet with blended greens/fruits to keep you full. These are options to get you started. I also agree with Meditation as a tool, always, and readings that help you - perhaps just reading from this site for the first year.

You must go into this knowing that it will take a long time. Eating issues are not easily treated. Even if you have nutritional deficiencies or addictions spurring them on, you've also built in habits and ways of thinking about food that need to be changed. Habits don't change quickly. You will backslide at times. But overall you can make progress.

And seriously, look at the Iodine protocol. One of the immediate effects of high Iodine dosing that many people notice is energy - but there are detox symptoms as well so you need to be prepared and knowledgeable. I recommend the Iodine Supplementation forum. I hope this helps. You have a long road ahead of you but we're rooting for you.

Take care,
Ruth
