Problem is your gut immunity is being suppressed. You still have immunity, but the mechanisms for clearing these types of parasites are being blocked by peptides created by the protozoa.
There are reproductive parts from the protozoa that exist in the blood, as well as peptides and other molecules [some are mild bio toxins]. This cause a two-fold problem 1 immuno suppression, and immuno over-stimulation.

This is a very difficult problem to deal with. It requires a multi-faceted approach.

There will need to be anti fungal drugs involved, Antibiotics , and antiprotozoal drugs.

This sort of treatment will not be approved by doctors.

As for the reason for these infections: food chain + HLA susceptibility.
