Only if you really believe in it. I find in my practice that a past near drowning experience can trigger hypertension for life unless the subconscious issues are properly addressed. If you had no near drowning experience then have you had any very bad experiences with liquids, such as chemo, or even a vaccination? Were you slapped around for spilling milk?

I also find in about 10% of the cases that the hypertension is caused by withholding or blocking love for somebody. For example, "I really love this person, but this person is a huge problem and I choose to stop loving him or her".

If this is not the case then the last area I look into would be if you witnessed any extreme violence as a child? Hypertension often hits blacks that grew up in the ghettos but then moved up and out and "put it all behind them"
