Re: Letter to Obama...

I have a friend who works in AI and robotics research, and I was discussing the de-classification of many of the research papers on sustainable energy sources, and other technology, with him. He is rather cynical, (but often correct), in his views. He believes that the only reason that much of this quite old technology research is being revealed, is that it does not have any significant military use. Any technology research that has the slightest chance of being used to make bigger and deadlier weapons,(like the world needs more of these), will remain classified, even if it would benefit the world.

We talked about the shift in conciousness, and the change in the energy, but we both felt that there are still too many people with the old way of thinking, that remain in powerfull positions globally, for this shift to fully be realised. The old mindset and beliefs are hanging on tenaciously, trying to reassert itself into our current reality. This can be seen at a government level, with the old political parties and ideals, (two party preferred systems of government), religious fundamentalists (of any religion), people who look to the past for their values and beliefs, and the deadly grip of the capitalist, corporate ideals, particularly in the phamacutical and fossil fuel corporate entities. The last thing these entities want is a shift in conciousness, it is not in their interests, and they are making a concerted effort to prevent this shift taking place.

I'd be interested in others thoughts on this.
