Hello everyone, I just wrote this today...
Views From a Conservative
My fellow Americans, some of us post here on this forum to seek truth and understanding. What other reason would be more noble and wise? These debates stem from ideological principles nations rest upon whether they were founded on them or not.
What built this country? Was it government or the people? Our greatest achievements (and perhaps 99% of those achievments) came from individuals in the private sector whose advancements continue to contribute to the lives of people who did not partake in the creation of innovative companies and inventions.
This nation was founded upon limited government and checks and balances. Essentially, our Constitution was created to give power to the people and ensure the government would stay out of the way. It is safe to say all of us have had hard times in our lives but those who are wise endeavor to learn from our mistakes. Those struggles are supposed to ground us and serve as part of foundations that help us move ahead with our dreams and aspirations.
I used to think that good things come to those who wait. By the spirit of freedom and liberty through entrepreneurship we built the things we take for granted. No individual credited for these great innovations waited for someone to do it for them.
Freedom and liberty is granted by God and not by government. Government should guard and protect its people against tyranny. To do otherwise would violate our inalienable rights and erode our abilities to unlock our best potential. Perhaps that is why socialist nations and policies have slowly lead to entropy and poverty in the nations that have embraced it.
In an attempt to break free from their economic declines and stagnation, many countries have been attempting to inject some capitalism into their economies. China and Brazil are just two of them. On the other hand, America has continuously injected socialist policies into its system.
Unfortunately, many leaders do not wish to give up their power. We saw an example of this in Honduras were a socialist dictator attempted to break the law of that nation's constitution. Power in the hands of the few is always dangerous and inevitably corrupts. Power is sought by telling many people they will be taken care of once new government grabs hold of it.
Look that those people who have being taken care of by government and honestly ask yourself if you wish to join them. One of the reasons why communism and socialism does not work is, people do not respect unearned money and property like they would if they had actually earned it.
Another reason why communism and socialism doesn't work is governments continuously seek to perpetuate their power and thus tax their people to the point where people start to give up their desire to achieve success.
Another reason why communism and socialism doesn't work is the tentacles of overbearing governments reach into areas where they have no common sense experience and end up making far more mistakes than experienced individuals would have made. Just look at the recent H1M1 vaccination program. Government intervened and there was a shortage of that vaccine. Whether you believe vaccines are good or not is not the issue. The point is that it was another failed attempt by government to run something that should be ran by individuals who have experience in that field.
Liberalism is a concept that stems from an emotional state of mind and liberals want to be recognized as good people. What they don't understand is what is going on in their heads doesn't reflect what happens in the real world.
Liberalism has the best of intentions but it inevitably destroys the vision, dreams, hopes and aspirations of the people who wish to achieve and also takes down the invisible hands Adam Smith told us about. Therefore, in the end it results in the lack of desire for advancement and misery for the many.
