Re: annoying cramps...
Low levels, or imbalances of magnesium, potassium, calcium and/or sodium can all contribute to cramps.
Calcium deficiencies are the most common reason why people get muscle cramps according to the latest studies.
If you are taking magnesium to excess, and not getting enough calcium, you could be upsetting your cal/mag electrolyte balance.
Dairy sources for calcium can be a huge mistake if the dairy is not of high quality as the high phosphorous content in most dairy (the animals are fed fertilized garbage with high phosphorous content) can reduce/negate absorption of usable calcium...
BTW - phosphorous is one mineral/element that has been used to such excess it is considered at or past the environmental tipping point - which along with excess nitrogen, increases calcium need.
To increase calcium go for home grown and/or organic plant sources - green juices are great... lots of heavy green leafy vegetables, etc.
When I had gone overboard in the past with Epsom salt baths and such, I would cramp in my feet and calves (not as bad as I used too) until such time as I increased my calcium consumption... I figured it out.
it is a learning curve.
Also, balance out your potassium and sodium intake... we should be getting more potassium than sodium on any given day IMO.
Do this by cutting out, or reducing salt (hopefully you are using a whole salt product) and increasing potassium rich foods and fresh juices. I use only a pinch or two of salt on any given day - and never use it when cooking.
You will figure it out if you give thought to mineral balancing and the foods and supplements you are taking.
Keep in mind that some supplementation, especially acidic supplements, increases the need for one or more alkaline minerals in order to be most effective.
