Another erroneous myth. Candida Albicans is facultative anaerobe, which means it can exist in oxygen-rich (mouth, skin) and oxygen-depleted (intestinal tract, body tissues) environments. Some studies indicate that it is harder to eliminate candida in an oxygen-rich environment. That seems to be more true of thrush, but not as true for skin infections.
