Looking for answers

Hello everyone. I am 41 and started to have bad heavy and irregulare periods. Well last week after a pap and ultrasound, they determined it wasnt cancer. Then they did say the lining in the uterous was the cause. They did a biopsy to check for pre-cancerous cells. If none they want to put in the Mirena IUD to keep the lining thin, thus claiming to regulate this problem. Not for birth control at all since I had my tubes tied 19 years ago.

My husband and I were concerned and more so no after visiting here.

So, is it safe to say this is a very BAD idea?
