Hi,

I just looked up what the medical image discs may be all about.

These files are designed to use industrial data transfers from assorted imaging machines usually in unix. Their format is suitable for further computer manipulations and computerized medical evaluations. It is not a conspiracy "for a change" :-)

I would expect that even doctor's offices have to go through a dedicated server to open these discs and view the files on PCs, all passworded etc. It is going to be somewhat similar to CNC operated machinery.
