There was NO QUESTION that I would breast-feed my own babies who also did not/do not have my physicality. I cringe when I see babies with bottles.
I am glad to hear you breast fed. That is important for so many reasons. Pair bonding and additional flora introduction for starters. And the milk changes with the babies growth to meet their demands. The first milk is antibody rich to support immunity. Then the fat levels increase to develop the nervous system. Then the protein content increases to build muscle. Then finally the mineral content increases to help with bone development. Cows milk and formula cannot do this.
As far as I am concerned I think formula should only be allowed by prescription so that it is only used in rare circumstances. For example I was allergic to both mother's milk and cow's milk as an infant. So my mother had no choice but to raise me on soy formula. Luckily I outgrew all my allergies by the age of 5 and have never had a problem since.
