Re: Earthwork's DE has High Aluminum

I looked through their website and did not see the chemical analysis, but being that it is 84% silica tells me that it is raw DE.  Raw DE has roughly an 80% silica content with the rest of the mineral content being primarily calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, and aluminum oxide.  Even though silica binds with aluminum for removal from the body there is the risk of the aluminum binding to other substances such as proteins hormones and therefore I prefer to use purified DE.  Purified DE is treated with acid to remove the metal oxides then washed and dried.  Other than raw material suppliers though I am not sure where to get it.
