Re: Another Wondering about Liver Cleansing Method

I did try it for like a week, but I didn't like it much. It was a bit too sour for my taste, and I didn't notice any change.

Another alternative cleanse that instead I loved - tried three times - is the castor oil flush -http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/castor_oil_liver_flush.asp.
I've always wanted to ask Hv his opinion on this so I take the occasion.
Curiously ever after I began doing this kind of cleanse, the other traditional liver cleanse stopped delivering any 'pseudo'-stones. Still wonder why.

When using olive oil the oil stimulates the release of bile from the gallbladder. The bile is rich in cholesterol, which then binds with the sterols from the olive oil while in the intestines. This forms an insoluble complex that people pass and think are gallstones. Castor oil on the other hand is composed primarily of glycerine, rather than fatty acids. So it does not stimulate the release of bile unless used in high doses. Therefore, even though the castor oil contains sterols there is much less available cholesterol for it to bind with. This results in less sterol-cholesterol complexes (pseudo-gallstones).

Are you still in for cleanses?

I like bitters for cleansing the liver. Chaparral, hydrangea root, or red clover blossom for cleansing the blood. And red root, mullein leaf, chickweed,  or small doses of poke root for cleansing the lymphatic system. For the intestines fiber and water. If someone needs a little extra help I prefer triphala.
