What my company uses for small batches of EM is a heating pad wrapped around a 5 gallon bucket. For larger batches (55 gallon) we use either a "hot box" which is a rectangular box constructed of 2"X4'X8" rigid foam board covered with clear lexan corrugated roofing. Place your black barrels in the box and the sun will warm it to over 160 degrees F and heat the water to just over 110 degrees F.
The other method we use is to employ a 35 watt water bed heater, wrapped around the barrel or tote. Over this we place foil backed bubble wrapped insulation. Works very well and allows you to maintain a constant 100 degree temp.
