You need the temperature to be fairly uniform across the bottle of EM to get an even brew. Placing the brew near to a desk lamp will simply heat up one spot. Sure, due to convection/conduction there will be some transference but not enough.

I would purchase a powered yogurt maker, the circular tub type, put this inside a coolbox. You will need to drill a hole in the bottom of the coolbox to feed the flex through. Stick your 1.5l or 2l bottle of EM brew inside the base of the yogurt maker and put the lid on the coolbox. Job done! Tweet
