Re: Muscle spasms? Calcium vs. Magnesium-The logic!
I am definitely not an expert, but when many biochemists doctors and scientists agree that optimal calcium absorbtion requires magnesium and an acid base, I am going to tend to believe them over a "former jock, current snorkler, fisherman, Father and short- attention- spanned-hyperkenetic, manic".
If it takes 5000mg of calcium to absorb 50mg without the magnesium, and with magnesium the absorbtion rate is more than ten times greater, don't you think that getting the calcium is what is needed and find something else to conter the magnesium embalance?
And why does this have to start with with high magnesium being causeing low calcium. What about blood
Sugar embalances which lower the oxygen content of the blood causing the body to think it needs less calcium to transport that oxygen. There are several other examples of acidosis I could give, all with simptoms of muscle spasms but I think the point is made.
What I do agree on is "Blood testing should be done before going wild on" ANYTHING.
