Root canal tooth removed...possible dry socket...necrosis...cyst

I just had my last dental issue removed last week. I had a root canal back in about 1995 and have worried in recent years that it has caused me some of the health problems I have. So, I found a doc that would remove it and clean out the ligament including the bone. I could smell it when it was pulled. The doc said she has never removed a root canal tooth that didn't look bad. It was decayed all under the cap, and she said it had necrosis and a cyst. She said I was going to be glad that I had it removed.

Well, that was Friday and my jaw is still hurting. I'm not sure what's involved in a dry socket, but I'm beginning to wonder if it is a dry socket, but it's just mild aching. I've heard that a dry socket hurts really bad. I just finished the last pill from the prescribed Z-pack.

The doc put a stitch in the opening, but it seems to have opened up a bit.

I've put a call in to the doc and will post what steps we take next for those interested.
