my thought is this: ego (by default, prior to being transmuted -- which is no simple feat) uses will
as a funnel;

like the will to know more; also the notion
of knowledge as power, for example, which is relatively "True" in an ultimate sense, but hardly appreciable at the level of intellectual ideation. Thus, "knowledge collecting is still engaged in amassing defenses; for a battle against a perceived outside enemy. Before transmutation, such concerns reflect simply more collecting, piled on top of perception. This is the important point.

Perception is not Knowledge: not in the pure sense of Gnosis. Perception is by nature clouded by virtue of the fact that perception's 'witnesses' are all
of the body: arriving through the senses, and mainly reacting to (unconscious) memory. Only one small piece of what 'arrives' is conscious. (This might explain why it is better to focus on transmutation and leave the rest to those who Know.) Nothing is hidden, though much is concealed, simply because it does not share the same vibration. When it does, it "miraculously" appears, where it always was. (In Tibet, for example, there is a word for such "treasures" of knowledge -which belong to the dharma, or, tools for liberation- and another for the "treasure finder", or "holder". Much profound and ancient teaching is still being discovered, having been concealed, and then revealed.)


It is ego (although this causes anger and resentment to ego's ears to hear) that has an insatiable thirst to collect; and that tells Mind-in-consciousness it *needs* this or that; assures it that it IS the body--a universal lie-- or that it 'deserves' such and such (often something that goes against Nature)as a "reward" for doing whatever it is the body-mind does, often in a state of struggle and with a belief that it is separated from the Divine. And many times we are (secretly) happy to be so! since it means we can keep some part of ourselves out of View. In doing this though, we maintain our own exile. (a thing which frankly, pleases ego, which is 9/10's reactive, and does not want liberation: for fear that it may "disappear" or "die")

I have come to see that much is not revealed, simply because in a manner of speaking, since ego is so often in charge, and being fed by unconscious memory, well, in effect: our time is not God's time. "God's time" is instant, and eternal, without spearate selves, and including ALL, while we are still celebrating a future
we call the present, while hiding from our sight a past
we hold fast to, (with all its emotional triggers and "truths"), that contained the seeds of all doing -- And un-doing!

The doing is enough for most people to deal with, however. While it's in the un-doing that "time", the plodder that requires we wait to have some things revealed, is actually reversed. The reversal of time (even an instant of this)makes the gathering of knowledge and the notion of power dissolve into nothing but light. Nothing is required, but appreciation. (And with this, comes the dawning of intuition as more than a 'birthright'.) That is, one feels a great desire to appreciate.
