speaking out against my country and leader is the most patriotic thing I can do when they are wrong. Country's that don't do this are the oppressed nations we pretend we want to help.
Blindly sitting back and thinking that our leaders have all this inside information is exactly what got us into Vietnam. The U.S is doing the same thing they did in 92. That story about babies being thrown on the floor from the incubators got the people of the U.s solidly behind the effort. Of couse, the crying woman turned out to be royalty's daughter and the whole thing was a lie. But Bush senior looked like a compassionate person when he told the story to the American people.
We are hearing the same type of hype now. I'm sure some of it is true, but a lot of if is propaganda that our leaders know is not true.
Irregardless, I don't think going in there and killing thousands so that we can say we are protecting them from Saddam killing them is not a theory that I support.
