Re: PLEASE HELP! - Father has Stage 5 Kidney Failure and is pre-dialysis
Hi, I felt the need to type you a quick message as I could tell by your post that you were worried about your Dad. That is understandable, I myself work as a nurse within my local hospitals haemodialysis unit, and have been there for years. I have seen many patients start dialysis and yes, they have been worried (some of them), although they do manage to adapt. We have also had many patients recently receiving transplants.
I also felt the need to express how I felt about another users message about how your Dad managed to end up with renal failure. It has nothing to do with what somebody eats or drinks (such as fizzy pop), and although natural therapies can have a slight effect on patients HB's and observations like blood pressure and pulse, it cannot cure it.
A lot of my patients are very close and help each other through their treatment, this works very well too.We even have some of our patients doing haemodialysis at home, and this works very well for them.
I hope that my little message has helped in some way and that your Dad, you and the rest of your family will manage to adapt to the situation and take care.
Also if you are on facebook they have a good group for patients with renal failure, and this might help your Dad to get in contact with others that have gone through the same problems.x
