Unfortunately, we were far too late in discovering the condition of our cat.
Here is an e-mail I received from my wife today:
"...Gus has retinal detachment in both eyes - 100% in the left and 80% in the right and he's deaf. He's emaciated and he said the fairest thing to do for him is euthenasia. He said he'll just continue to deteriorate and could have a stroke, get a blood clot or go into cardiac arrest, which would all cause him extreme pain and I don't want Gus to be in pain. Gus has no quality of life right now and he said that the fact that he just lays there shows he's just given up and is retreating into himself."
"We'll only have 2 cats when you get home tonight :("
