Our oldest cat has hyperthyroidism, arthritis, and we noticed today that his eyes are suffering from cataracts/glaucoma.
Does anyone have any experience using Miracle-Mineral-Supplement and/or DMSO orally in drinking water for felines?
I have also posted in the Hyoerthyroid and Arthritis forum.

We have had good results adding sodium chlorite to the drinking water. You are looking for a concentration of available chlorine dioxide of 5 PPM.

Unfortunately, I do not have anything with a small enough measurement for 0.5 ml.
It is very saddening to see our cat stay in a corner for hours. You can barely see his eyes now because they look "foggy". He has trouble navigating.

Hope this helps, Jeremy. According to Wikipedia, twenty (20) drops of water are in one millilitre. Even if you erred on the side of caution, and only put 6 or 7 drops of the 5% solution in 3 litres, that should get you close to .5 mL.

This is a reply to # 1,441,747I used a 15 ml spoon to estimate the 10 ml and 35 ml.
I mixed this with nearly 3 liters (the pot was just under 3 liters) and poured some of this into a container for him to sip on over time.
Tom, can you elaborate on the success(es) you've seen with this in cats?

Hello Jeremy,
It is all anecdotal, but we have seen older cats regain some playfulness and spend a lot more time being cats than simply sleeping. They have also exhibited an increase in appetite and curiosity.
I still don't understand why, but it is a very pleasant change.

Hello Jeremy,
I haven't completed the testing on this, but under proper storage conditions water should be good for 5 years.
When you add sodium chlorite to water, the PH of the sodium chlorite is lowered and it begins the activation process. I have checked the level of chlorine dioxide after 6 months of storage, and it appears to be very similar to the initial amounts.
However, this testing is being done with closed containers. Things will be different with an open dish, but you should be good for a couple of days. If you mix up 3 liters and only go through 0.5 liters a day, store the unused solution in a cool place out of direct UV light and it should remain good until you use it up.
A good general rule to follow is that if you can't remember when you mixed the solution up, or have doubts about how you mixed it, throw it out and start over.

Here is an e-mail I received from my wife today:
"...Gus has retinal detachment in both eyes - 100% in the left and 80% in the right and he's deaf. He's emaciated and he said the fairest thing to do for him is euthenasia. He said he'll just continue to deteriorate and could have a stroke, get a blood clot or go into cardiac arrest, which would all cause him extreme pain and I don't want Gus to be in pain. Gus has no quality of life right now and he said that the fact that he just lays there shows he's just given up and is retreating into himself."

In this case you're probably making the best choice. My favorite Cat had a tumor blocking the digestive track and their wasn't enough time as she couldn't get nourishment. The Cat was 20 years old so we figured it would be the best choice.
The Cats cover up their illnesses so they could be almost stone dead and you wouldn't know it. By that time it's time to rush them to the vet. The end result is the same and it could cost a ton of money to keep them alive for a little longer. I have Astral Projected several times so I know what it is like to be out of body. I have a dear friend in his 50's and he is well trained in this.
I am also aware of methods people use to communicate with the dead. Audio recorders, video recorders, leaving radio, TV, other electronic devices turned on and what-not.

I would add a few drops of Lugols Iodine to the water instead as you mention thyroid problems. As for DMSO. You can take DMSO orally but I would first try rubbing it into the skin in the area that is sore. It will absorb quickly through the skin and travel throughout the body.

When iodine no longer binds to thyroid cell membranes enzymes called peroxidases are able to damage these membranes and produce autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Hyperthroidism (Graves Disease). Researcher Dr. Guy Abraham has observed several cases of thyroiditis and hyperthyroidism that have been corrected by the simple replacement of iodine. For more than 100 years high doses of iodine have been known to benefit both underactivity (hypothyroidism) of the thyroid gland and overactivity of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism). I've been using Miracle-Mineral-Supplement with my cat for a while now.
I use 5 drops of citric acid and 1 drop of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement . I wait 3 minutes and then mix it with a little water and some wet cat food that does NOT have vitamin C or other antioxidants added.
If she doesn't like that, you can use a syringe (with no needle) and suck up the dose of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement with some water and squirt it in her mouth. They don't like that though.
I'd start with 1/2 a drop, in the morning and 1/2 drop in the evening. If there's no nausea, move up to 1 drop in the morning and 1 in the evening.
My cat can't take 2 drops at once so when we moved past the 1 drop stage I give her 1 drop 4 times a day.
Her eyes cleared up and she has energy. YAY!Advertisement

This is a reply to # 1,443,041I am confused. I find pet directions saying start with 1 drop to 5 drops citric acid , mix with 1/2 cup of water then give cat according to its weight. I weigh 120lbs and take the full 1/2 cup, so for my 5lb cat, she weighs 1/24 of my weight. There are 120ml/cc in 1/2 cup of water. That should mean I would give her 5 ml each dose. But, I have found 3 testimonials of folks giving 1 drop to 5 drops, then just adding a bit of water to that & giving this full strength to the cat. Which is the correct way?? I have a very ill cat weighing about 8 1/2 lbs plus the 5 lb cat and a 10-12lb cat I wish to continue on Miracle-Mineral-Supplement .
