Having trouble performing enema (water leaking out, cramps, etc.)

Hi guys,

I'm totally new to giving myself enemas and it hasn't turned out to be as easy as I thought it would be. Here are some notes about my setup:

--> 5-quart vinyl open-top enema bag
--> 6-foot latex catheter/hose
--> 6-inch thick high-flow "barium" nozzle
--> 3-inch standard thin nozzle

Right now I'm trying to do a high enema or at least successfully get some water into my sigmoid colon so I can prepare myself for coffee enemas (which are my ultimate objective).

The standard enema position I used was lying down on my left side.

Some of the instructions I read suggested hanging the bag no more than ~3 feet off the ground, so that the water would flow in more slowly. I'm finding that to be a challenge with such a long catheter (6-foot). Unless I pick up the middle of the catheter and hold it high into the air, the long tube just sprawls out onto the ground and barely gets any water flow. I've been experimenting with using open drawers and cabinet handles, etc., to keep the tube slightly elevated throughout most of its length...

But anyway, the first time I tried the enema, I resorted to hanging the bag about 5 feet into the air. In addition, I tried the "barium" nozzle, because in the spirit of one of my greatest natural healing inspirations - Dr. Richard Schulze - I thought bigger (and more powerful) would be better. Well, let me tell you, that is not always the case. Not only was lubricating and sticking that huge thing (which, distastefully enough, is shaped like a penis) into my butt a physically and emotionally unnerving experience, but the high water flow rate was overwhelming. In only 3-5 seconds, my rectum was full of water and cramping so badly that I had to evacuate it. Then I tried clamping after 1 second, holding it, relaxing, then letting some more flow in and clamping after another second, etc., but it still felt very forceful, and once my rectum was full of water the cramping just wouldn't subside no matter what. And all this continued to happen over and over as I wasted 3 quarts of pure water just doing rectal flushes... I thought eventually my body would get used to it and start accepting more water.

(Here's a photo of the "barium" nozzle in case you've never seen it before; I think mine is the one labeled 'BT2': http://www.bethtyler.com/public_html/images/bt123a.jpg)

So I switched to the much-more-pleasant standard 3-inch (or 3.5-inch) thin nozzle and tried hanging the bag only 3 feet high. And this time, I had an entirely different problem: most of the water leaked out onto the floor. As far as I could tell, it wasn't the catheter or the nozzle that was leaking, but rather, the water was encountering resistance and flowing right back out of me instead of going into my rectum. What the heck? Is the nozzle not long enough for the water to stay in my rectum instead of just coming right back out? I tried this again and again in several different positions. I had some brief success lying on my back and lifting my butt into the air, so that gravity would help the water downward into my body instead of upward and outward. But I think it stopped working after a few seconds, and I couldn't replicate it when I tried to do that again.

Any suggestions? Thanks for reading my post! :)
