OMG! So Sad! *Graphic text*
I just got back from the store. I struck up a conversation with the store clerk, telling her than my USAF son was on leave and that I was so happy to have him home, blah blah, how was her week?
Not so good- one of her nieces had been complaining about her eyes. Her eyesight was blurry and it felt like her eyes were bulging. Mamma convinced the girl to go see the doctor. She was referred to a specialist, who said she had tumors in her eyes.
Oh, gosh, y'all, I almost burst into tears right there in the store when the clerk told me "They did surgery this week and cut her eyes out. Both of them."
A few weeks ago I was at Walmart and struck up a conversation with a guy in a wheelchair who was missing his legs. I assumed it was a military injury, based on what he was wearing. "No," he told me. "I have diabetes and had gangrene in my feet and they cut off my legs all the way up to my knees."
We have GOT to learn how to do this.
