Re: Never meant to

No, I didn't feel you disliked your family, perhaps just disappointed or worried for them. How can we be so worried about their walk with God when we have our own journey to travel?

I would think you have read your bible or you would not have decided to choose to observe the holy days for yourself. I assume your Mother did not teach you to do so. As you can look around curezone, not everyone observes the Holy days but takes very serious whatever spiritual walk they may have.

You may be somewhat like me and have lived a sheltered life and felt the rest of the world is just like the little world we have created for ourselves. In my little world, the people are very much like minded, we believe the same, so we have a language all our own, so to speak.

We seldom argue, because there is not much to argue or debate about. Life is orderly and well thought out....it sounds fine until you come here to Curezone and people tell you that you are a sheep or you don't think for yourself and other such things. I guess I would agree if I was not sure in my mind what Truths have worked for me and what has not. It does not hurt to be open minded and hear what they have to say.

One of my biggest fears was allowing someone to sway me away from my main belief system. The truth is, they don't have that power....with the help of the Holy Spirit, I will keep what Truths that I find to be right and just but I do listen to see if anyone else may have a different way of looking at those Truths. I have picked up some wonderful ways at looking at them that have truly enriched my life.

Example: Living by the fruit of the Spirit. I have always believed in them but rethought how to apply them to my life. It did cause me to study more and figure out how all my beliefs may slightly shift somewhat but basically the main thing....stayed the main thing.

Another: Realizing that we don't have to defend God. Every time we get irritated at someone for not believing the way we do....we think we are defending God by saying something. God can defend Himself...our job is to love and serve people....and to share what we have learned that has blessed our lives with the people who want to know.

Another: Not feeling it's wrong to hang out with people who's beliefs are slightly different than mine, but rather focusing on hanging with people with good intent and a desire to walk in the fruit of the Spirit.

Ok, that's my take on things. Please correct me where I may still be wrong in understanding your thoughts. It's hard to always share our thoughts in short little sentences but we can try. :)
